In the project shown here, however, it was taken into account in an exemplary manner. An automotive supplier needed more storage space for an increasing number of injection molds. There was no alternative but to relocate the tools, weighing up to 15 tons, to another hall.<br \/>\nThis is now accomplished with a Genkinger heavy-duty lift truck that has a load capacity of up to 18 tons. Genkinger also developed the associated heavy-duty pallets for the automotive supplier. This resulted in an additional challenge for the lift truck design: to reach the new storage location, a considerable incline must be traversed, which is why the lift truck was equipped with two high-torque drives. It is not only important that the multi-ton tool loads are moved quickly and safely. Rather, the lift truck must also master the dynamic forces so that it can be brought to a safe stop even from full speed (keyword: negative acceleration).
