Transport Cart as Crane Alternative
In this case, a flexible alternative had to be developed for transporting bulky sheet metal panels to the laser cutting system. The sheet metal transporter is suitable wherever sheet metal packages need to be transported and no crane is available to feed the laser cutting system.
The transport cart is easily loaded with a pallet truck or forklift, or with a crane if required. At the laser cutting system, the vehicle can be positioned directly under the vacuum grippers, which remove the required quantity of sheet metal. The transport cart then returns to the warehouse with the remaining sheet metal package.
The lateral sliding surfaces ensure easy and precise positioning at the system. This allows sheet metal panels to be transported ergonomically and safely over longer distances, as well as between halls and buildings.
The special equipment shown here is designed for large panels with dimensions of 3,000 × 1,500 mm and transports loads of up to 3 tons.
