Stacker for Sensitive Coils

Which device safely transports coils of very different sizes from the storage area to the reel for further processing? A special Genkinger stacker for coils. More precisely, an electric pedestrian stacker with prism forks brought a decisive advance in coil handling.

In a metal company, copper coils were previously set up and lifted with a C-hook. The company achieved an initial improvement in handling regarding safety and comfort with a rotary/tilting table. However, the coils still had to be picked up and transported from there by crane.

Only the specially manufactured Genkinger stacker brought the decisive breakthrough: it handles heavy and large coils up to 3.5 t. And not only that: even very narrow coils, only 19 mm wide, secured by a prism hold-down device, can be safely transferred to the machine. With 10 to 15 lifting cycles per shift.

With a remote control, employees move away from the danger zone and are therefore always safe, even if a coil should slip. The increased safety has noticeably reduced the stress level of the employees.
