Ergonomic and fast transport of concrete channels weighing up to 200 kg
Picking heavy concrete channels places high demands on ergonomics, safety and speed. For Hauraton, a manufacturer of drainage channels, Genkinger developed a solution that enables the channels weighing up to 200 kg to be staged on Euro pallets safely, ergonomically and quickly.
The basis of the custom solution is a high-lift stacker truck, which is often used for pallet handling. The highlight is a four-axis gripper arm that allows the operator to pick up the concrete channels at the push of a button and move them without muscular effort. A large green signal light clearly indicates that the channels have been securely picked up by the gripper.
Afterwards, one or two channels can be swung onto a Euro pallet at the same time, which rests on the fork tines of the high-lift stacker truck. With an operating radius of 2,400 mm, the gripper reaches several storage locations on both sides of the aisle without the vehicle having to be moved.
For particularly ergonomic operation, all key vehicle functions are mounted directly on the gripper. These include the drive and steering. This means the operator has everything under control at all times and does not have to change position during the work process.
The combination of gripping technology, long reach and controls positioned directly on the gripper enables fast, safe and ergonomic material flow. The three order picking vehicles prove themselves every day in tough routine operation at Hauraton.
