10-Ton Coils 6 Meters High
New heavy-duty racking created a new structure in a metal goods dealer’s warehouse—and simultaneously created demand for a compact heavy-duty reach truck. It needed to handle 10-ton aluminum coils with a load center of 1,100 mm at a lift height of 6 m. At first contact, the customer asked whether such a machine was even feasible and whether Genkinger had a reference project. There was no reference project, but there was also no “can’t be done.” So Genkinger designed an innovative machine for the reduced aisle widths where no standard forklift would fit. The Genkinger heavy-duty reach truck is one of the largest of its kind worldwide—yet still compact.
