For the demanding three-shift operations of an automobile manufacturer, Genkinger designed an electric sit-on coil transporter with hydraulically adjustable prisms.

This allows coils of various diameters to be picked up.

The electric pedestrian forklift serves not only as a transport device; in this case, it also acts as an assembly aid for engine mounting. The forklift is guided into the joining station of an assembly line. There, after the two load-handling arms are manually brought together via a handwheel, the final fixation is achieved using four locating pins. The operator can then lift, lower, and rotate the engine to be assembled by 45 degrees into the most ergonomic position using two control panels.

To replace injection molds weighing up to 6,000 kg, the electric tool changer must be positioned exactly vertically and horizontally relative to the changing table. To prevent shifting during the push-pull process via a roller conveyor, the vehicle is docked with a positive lock.

The SHERPA electric transporter transports tools and medium-heavy parts into production. Genkinger has since expanded this series modularly, including the addition of trailers.

“Occasionally, we break completely new ground with our custom designs,” says Genkinger Managing Director Richard Ludwig, citing the cardboard clearing device as an example. It clears cardboard from the narrow aisles of a drugstore central warehouse—which order pickers throw down behind them—and transports it to the recycling collection point. The Genkinger cardboard clearing device will be located at the main entrance at LogiMAT.
