EGPL engine manipulator
For precise engine installation in bus manufacturing
Genkinger developed a custom EGPL engine manipulator for an international bus manufacturer for the installation of complete engine blocks in confined spaces.
The challenge was to position engine blocks weighing up to 3,000 kg with millimeter precision at the designated suspension points. For this purpose, the load must be precisely aligned both horizontally and vertically.
The custom solution has a load capacity of 3 tons and is designed for large load centers. A specially developed lifting unit with hydraulically tiltable and swiveling fork tines enables the exact positioning of the engine block throughout the entire assembly process.
