Rope Handling
Genkinger developed a tandem vehicle for a manufacturer of steel ropes, e.g., for elevators and cranes. The vehicles are used individually for transporting rope drums and together for rope handling.
The first vehicle picks up a full rope drum and is positioned opposite the other vehicle, which is loaded with an empty drum.
Then, the rope is re-spooled from the full drum to the empty one. This eliminates long trips to a stationary facility.
