EGU PALLET TRUCK

Ducab produces infrastructure cables in the United Arab Emirates. To increase production while saving space, the company required a solution for the safe and efficient transport of heavy cable drums between production, the testing center, and shipping.

Genkinger developed two custom heavy-duty pallet trucks for this purpose. Unlike conventional counterbalance forklifts, the load is picked up within the vehicle’s contour. As a result, the cable drum transporters require significantly less driving and maneuvering space. The space saved could then be utilized for production.

Thanks to the radio remote control, the operator maintains an optimal view of the cable drums and the surroundings at all times. This also allows heavy loads of 15 to 25 tons to be maneuvered with millimeter precision and transported safely.

The extreme operating conditions in the United Arab Emirates presented a particular challenge. Temperatures of up to 50°C and humidity levels of up to 90% placed special demands on the vehicle technology. Specially designed cooling systems with powerful fans, dust filters, and generous reserves ensure reliable operation. Additionally, an intelligent temperature management system monitors the vehicle temperature and automatically reduces the speed if necessary before critical temperatures are reached.

By using Genkinger pallet trucks, Ducab was able to significantly reduce the space required for cable drum transport. At the same time, acquisition and operating costs have decreased. The radio remote control also improves the operator’s visibility and increases safety when transporting heavy cable drums.

The vehicles have been in reliable use at Ducab in Dubai and Abu Dhabi since January 2021.
